This website belongs to The Indian Kitchen, Biryani and Dosa, a restaurant at 3334 Yonge St, North York, Toronto, ON M4N 2M4. This page explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you use it.
The short version: this is a marketing website. It exists to show you our menu and let you get in touch. We collect almost nothing, we do not track you, and the only information we ever see is what you deliberately type into one of our forms and send to us.
We collect personal information in one situation only, when you fill in and submit a form on this site. There are three of them:
Please only include what you are comfortable sending by email. There is no need to send us payment details, identification documents or medical information, and we ask that you do not.
We do not have accounts, logins or a customer database. Nothing you submit is stored in a database on our side.
We use what you send us to reply to you and nothing else. That means answering a catering inquiry, responding to a message, or confirming a table. If you ask us about an event, we may use your details to follow up about that event.
We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not send marketing unless you have clearly asked us to, and we do not build a profile of you.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. The only parties who ever handle it are the service that delivers your form submission to our inbox and, if it ever became legally required, the relevant authority.
We do not run analytics on this site. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising network, no tracking pixel, no remarketing tag and no third party cookie set by us.
The only thing this site stores in your browser is a single flag that remembers you have dismissed our cookie notice, so the bar does not appear again on every page. It is kept in your browser's local storage, it holds nothing but a yes, and it never leaves your device. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, for example IP addresses and requested pages, for security and reliability. We do not use those logs to identify visitors.
Your form submission arrives as an email in the restaurant's inbox, and it stays there the way any email does, until it is deleted. In practice we keep inquiries while we are dealing with them and for a reasonable period afterwards, so we can look back at a booking or an event if a question comes up. We do not keep them indefinitely as a matter of policy, and we do not copy them into any other system.
You can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email hello@theindiankitchen.ca from the address you contacted us with, or tell us which inquiry you mean, and we will delete the relevant messages from our inbox and confirm once it is done. We aim to reply within a few business days.
If your information sits with a delivery platform instead, because you ordered through Uber Eats or DoorDash, you will need to make that request to them, as we have no access to it.
This site is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will remove it.
If we change how this site handles information, for example by adding analytics or online ordering, we will update this page and change the date at the top. There is no version history, so the page you are reading is always the current one.
Questions about this policy, or about anything on this page, can go to hello@theindiankitchen.ca, or by post to The Indian Kitchen, 3334 Yonge St, North York, Toronto, ON M4N 2M4, Canada.
